Alex and Tanya Brookes were a happy couple when they came to collect their brand new Toyota Kluger 4x2 KX-R at the Dometic Australia head office today.
Alex & Tanya said all they had ever won was a $50 voucher. To win a car was something that they had never dreamed of and when the phone call came through some weeks ago from Justin Schulte, Dometic Australia Divisional Sales Manager Retail, Alex could not believe that he had won! "I thought it was a prank call at first", Alex said, who was packing up the campertrailer to go to Lake Eyre at the time.
Alex & Tanya bought their winning entry with a CF-60 fridge/freezer at the QLD Caravan & Camping Show in June this year. The couple were actually considering buying one last year, however money was tight and they decided to wait until the timing was right. And indeed it was! "When I bought the fridge , I thought I may as well enter the competition. I was thinking that it would be nice to win our money back", Alex said. But here he is, having won the Grand Prize and can't believe his luck! Not until Alex and Tanya actually arrived to Dometic Austalia head office, reality started to sink in, and when they first saw the car, they both thought to themselves: "This car is ours!".
Stoked about the fantastic features of the Toyota Kluger, Alex and Tanya were just as excited about their new WAECO products we loaded up their car with; a fridge slide for their CF-60 fridge/freezer, a fridge stand, two CoolPower RAPS36 battery packs with a RAPS72 kit, a RAPS12R-U2 power kit, which was installed in the car, a CDF-11 fridge/freezer, a Cool-Ice WCI-70 icebox, a PerfectCharge W8 battery charger, a PerfectPower MCI-150-12 inverter and last but not least a MagicComfort MSC10 car seat cover cooler.
Overall the Grand Prize Alex and Tanya scored is valued at over $46,000.
"Our son has already told us that the CDF-11 would fit nicely in his car", Tanya said. "The children know some of the products we won, but not all of them, so we can't wait to show them and decide who is getting what."
The Brookes' bought a fridge stand for their CF-60 at the show, but said they don't have one for their CF-40. "This will be perfect! It is good to be able to get the fridges off the ground" Tanya said, as the couple have had some overwhelming incidences of bugs on previous camping trips.
Before purchasing the CF-60, Alex and Tanya already had a CF-40, which they now use as a freezer, whilst they use the CF-60 as a fridge.
Alex said he chose the WAECO fridge/freezer due to its power efficiency and that his friends also use WAECO.
Since Tanya works at the school the Brookes' usually try to get away in the school holidays. The next adventure is scheduled for Easter 2012, when the couple is heading for the Dinosaur Trail in QLD encompassing Richmond, Hughenden and Winton.
The couple was most grateful for winning the Grand Prize. We wish Alex, Tanya and the kids all the best with their brand new Toyota Kluger and WAECO products. Congratulations guys and enjoy!
